Mohammed Nazam (born in Pakistan) is a London based guitarist, composer and writer. He is known for having played with a variety of pop artists as well as being a prominent guitarist during the jazz boom of the 1990s in the UK. Since the early 1990s he has also been a permanent member of the various bands led by Pete Brown.[1] He took part in the Blue Note Records showcase of London jazz music “Pyrotechnics”, which also featured leading UK jazz artists such as Orphy Robinson, Tony Remy and The Mondesir Brothers. He was a member of the ground breaking collective The Jazz Warriors, founded by Courtney Pine.

Mark Mondesir - drums


Mark Mondesir is undoubtedly one of the finest drummers the UK has ever produced, and has gained the respect and admiration of musicians the world over. A unique talent, he combines technical velocity, complexity and dexterity with an awesome inventiveness and imaginative dynamism, all grounded in an instinctive feel for groove. He has known and worked with Julian for over twenty years, and has made an inspiring and essential contribution to all his projects, bringing a musical integrity and diversity that is, quite simply, humbling. He is comfortable in any genre, from jazz to rock to funk to fusion and has collaborated with a range of international artists, including John McLaughlin, Joe Zawinul, Steve Gadd, John Scofield, Jeff Beck, Kevin Eubanks and Brian Ferry, as well as British musicians Courtney Pine, Andy Sheppard, Tony Remy, Dennis Rollins, Cleveland Watkiss, and his brother, Mike. Mark is also a distinctive voice in jazz composition, influenced by the seminal names in jazz fusion ~ Herbie Hancock, Jaco Pastorius, John Serry, Jan Hammer and Alphonso Johnson.




Neville Malcom - bass

Neville Malcolm - Electric & Double bass - is one of the most in-demand bass players in the country. Known as ‘Level-Neville’, he is an understated star on both acoustic and electric bass, combining an earthy, soulful feel with effortless technical ability.
Coming from a background in Gospel music, Neville started out playing organ and guitar, switching to bass as he developed an ever greater interest in jazz and other music.
Turning professional in the early ‘90s, he worked with Philip Bent and Steve Williamson and became part of London’s Acid Jazz scene.

He has since performed all over the world and recorded with Billy Cobham, Gabrielle, Tom Jones, Carl Orr, Alex Wilson, Nathan Haynes, Marlene Shaw, Dave Valentin and Jack DeJohnette. Most recently he has been touring and recording with two of the world’s best known jazz crossover groups, Incognito and Us3.


Roberto Manzin - sax

Gordon Hulbert - piano


Musical director Gordon Hulbert has been in the MD chair for Chaka Khan, Anastacia, Gabrielle, Alison Limerick & Imagination amongst others and his work with Heatwave, Alexander O'Neal, Odyssey etc has given him a unique insight into what makes these acts some of the the foremost live dance acts in the business. Gordon is also a member of the Noel McKoy band and also worked in conjunction with the head of Universal Jazz on the re-mix package for Salif Keita’s ‘Madan’ album. Whilst on tour in Africa Gordon had the honour of working with Hugh Masekela.


As a composer Gordon has a long list of credits with the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Parade Films and is also prolific within the EDM arena.
